The Center for Climate Finance and Multilateral Policy (Pusat Kebijakan Pembiayaan Perubahan Iklim dan Multilateral, or PKPPIM) of the Fiscal Policy Agency, acts as the NDA Secretariat in Indonesia. The Secretary of the NDA GCF is the Director of PKPPIM
In June 2018, GCF approved the first Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme (RPSP) funding for Indonesia. Based on nomination from the NDA, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) has been appointed as a delivery partner to implement the RPSP.

Since 2010, Indonesia has been actively involved in GCF under the former President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Yudhoyono formed various relevant bodies, including the President’s Delivery Unit for Development Monitoring and Oversight (UKP4), the REDD+ Management Agency (BP-REDD+) and the National Council on Climate Change (DNPI). DNPI served as Indonesia’s National Designated Authority (NDA) for GCF at that time.
In August 2012, Bambang Brodjonegoro (the Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance at the time) was appointed as one of the 24 GCF Board members. In February 2014, during the 6th GCF Board meeting in Bali, Indonesia announced a pledge of USD 250,000 to GCF, a step taken in the hope of inspiring other countries to contribute further.
When current President Joko Widodo was elected in October 2014, the above-mentioned bodies were dissolved. In May 2015, DNPI’s roles were transferred to the Directorate General of Climate Change Control (DJPPI), a unit under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) which specifically handles climate change issues as well as future forest fires.
On 3 August 2016, Dr. Suahasil Nazara, who at that time served as the Chairman of the Fiscal Policy Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, was appointed to represent Indonesia’s NDA for GCF. He replaced Rahmat Witoelar, the Chairman of the dissolved DNPI.
