Should Indonesia (Re) Establish A National Development Bank ?

The Objective

The main objective of the paper is to develop argument that support the establishment of public financing institution to address national development agendas and proposes the approach of its implementation. 

 

The Proposition

There exists a need for Government of Indonesia to (re)establish an internationally recognized special financial institution to address national development agendas. However, the development of this institution must be in gradual stepwise transformation depending on the circumstances and meet the international accreditation standard. Moreover, the ideal format of the proposed institution is that it should posses a mixed ownership, carrying second-tier activities with a universal mandate.
